Making History: How it All Began

Every business has its own origin story, and we like to think ours is pretty special.

What started as a global email exchange of ideas between three women based in London, Amsterdam, and Hong Kong at the height of the pandemic, later became a shareholders’ meeting at Le Sacre Coeur restaurant in Islington, London, where the concept for ‘History Ink’ was born.

Together, we were excited to have recognised a significant gap in the market. By pooling together our expertise in archives, historical research and writing, exhibition curation, public engagement, and design, we were able to offer a one-stop-shop for businesses and organisations looking to preserve their history, and in turn, to share their own origin stories.

Building a business has been full of challenges and frustrations (accounting, anyone?). It has also been an incredible journey of discovery, collaboration, teamwork, and laughter.
