New exhibition co-curated by History Ink reveals little-known history of Jewish refugees in Hong Kong

History Ink Director Amelia Allsop was recently invited to curate an exhibition exploring the history of Jews in Germany and the European Jewish refugees who fled to Hong Kong in the months and years before the Holocaust.

The exhibit, called ‘Jewish Life in Germany and Escape Destination Hong Kong’, opens on November 11 2021 and is hosted at the Goethe-Institut in Hong Kong. It features multimedia content as well as never-before-seen photographs, oral histories and written records from the archive of the Hong Kong Heritage Project.

The exhibition was brought to Hong Kong by the Center for Persecuted Arts in Solingen, the Holocaust and the United Nations Outreach Program, the German Consulate General in Hong Kong and the Goethe-Institut.

Amelia was interviewed about the exhibition in this South China Morning Post article.
